LTL S.C.U.B.A

This week in LTL I read a book called S.C.U.B.A underwater diving invention.

It told me who invented the SCUBA diving suit. The person who invented it was Jacques (pronounced Jack)  Cousteau who was a famous diver. The problem was when he invented it World War 2 was going on and the Nazi's were controlling France and they could have used it for the war and make it bombs underwater, so he had to invent it in secret. SCUBA stands for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatis. I enjoyed reading this book because it told me a lot about history and I really enjoy learning about history.

Why was the Rimu tree most important to the maori’s? They used the wood for weapons like spears and knives and used the leaves for medicine for healing.

Tech Blog Post

Hard Tech 

this week i did hard tech with part of room 30 and 29. Our group made and designed shields, what we had to do first was to draw our design on a  worksheet, and after that we had to draw the shape and cut it out and trace it on a piece of wood, then we cut the wood out with a mechanical machine and put it on a sand paper machine, Then after that we painted our design on the wooden shield. After that we were done so this lady took a picture of us and thats about it. 

Rock quest

on saturday i went to the rock quest to create homework in excellence in the arts

I decided to decide witch band i like best and share it on my blog.

the smoke free rock quest was honestly boring as heck, but I did it for homework.

I believe chase replica was the best because they were the only band i actually listend to besides another one. also they went into the finals so thats cool.

Elephants trunk

This was not a whole book but something I read in LTL 

The elephants trunk can submerge underwater when the elephant is in the water. He uses it as a snorkel.  Because the elephants neck is so short he needs it to pick fruits from trees and pick things up from the ground with his trunk. It is also very sensitive. It can smell scents from far away, and it is very strong since it can dig holes in the ground and can fight during mating season. I like learning about animals because they are awesome check out WWF together.com
